Xi'an Team WE beat HANJIN BRION 3–2 (Demacia, October 15).
Xi'an Team WE needed all five games to get past HANJIN BRION, and the first two made it look like a short night. In Game 1, WEMonki's Jayce carried the fights at 8/1/5, WECube's Rumble went 4/0/6, and WEKaris added four kills on Ryze as WE won the kill count 17 to 10. BRION's carries struggled to get going, with BRORoamer's Syndra at 1/4/2 and BROTeddy's Ezreal at 3/4/2. Game 2 was even more lopsided. WEKaris took over on Akali at 6/0/2, WEAbout's Caitlyn picked up four kills, and BRION found only four kills all game against WE's fourteen. BROCasting's Gnar died four times.
Facing elimination, BRION flipped the series. Game 3 belonged to BRORoamer, whose Locke ran riot at 12/1/3 while BROTeddy's Kalista went 8/1/9 and BRONamgung's Renata Glasc set up 17 assists. BRION won the kill count 22 to 9, and WEAbout's Jhin was caught seven times. Game 4 was harsher still for WE. BROCasting finally took over the top side on Aatrox at 5/0/8, BRORoamer's Ahri went 9/1/13, BROTeddy's Xayah added eight kills, and BRONamgung's Rakan was part of 21 of them. BRION won the kill count 24 to 8 as WECube's Sion and WEErha's Nautilus fell a combined 13 times.
WE answered in Game 5 with total control of the map. They took all four dragons, six towers to BRION's two, and the game's only Baron, winning the kill count 15 to 6 and building a lead of about 10,500 gold. WECube's Zaahen led the way at 5/0/2, WEAbout's Smolder scaled into a 5/1/5 game, and WEErha's Alistar set up 12 assists, with WEMonki's Nocturne in on 13 kills. BRION took a lot from the series anyway. BRORoamer finished at 26/12/22 and BROTeddy at 22/12/27, and they were the reason it went the distance.
