LYON beat Cloud9 Kia 3–1 (LCS, October 3).
Cloud9 Kia struck first, and they did it emphatically. Their Game 1 kill count finished at 20 to 6, with Blaber's Naafiri running wild at 7/3/8 and Thanatos holding the top side on K'Sante at 5/1/6. The real problem for LYON was Loki's Orianna, who went 4/0/10 and sat at the center of every fight. Saint's Syndra was held to 0/3/1, and with LYON's carries starved, the game slipped away early and never came back within reach.
LYON answered by putting the ball in Saint's hands. On Sylas he went 10/2/8, stealing ultimates and turning skirmishes on their head, while Berserker's Jhin picked targets cleanly from the back line at 5/0/8. Isles made it all possible on Nautilus, landing the hooks behind 15 assists. LYON took the kill race 20 to 9 and evened the series.
Game 3 belonged to Inspired. His Qiyana finished 6/0/2, and LYON's early aggression snowballed into a 14 to 7 kill advantage. Blaber kept Cloud9 Kia in it for a while, as his Poppy went 5/2/1 and disrupted LYON's dives, but Loki's Vex struggled at 0/5/5 and Tactical's Cassiopeia never got enough room to scale. LYON took the lead in the series.
The fourth game was the tightest of the set. Cloud9 Kia controlled the dragon pit 4 to 1, and Loki's Taliyah put up 7/3/1 trying to force a decider. LYON played for the map instead. They secured both Barons and cracked 8 towers to Cloud9 Kia's 4, with Saint's Ryze at 7/1/2 and Berserker's Jinx at 5/2/7 doing the damage. Dhokla's Garen held the side lane at 3/1/0. LYON finished the game with a lead of roughly 7,800 gold and took the series 3-1.
