Republic of Korea beat Chinese Taipei 3–0 (Asian Games, October 2).
Republic of Korea took the opener on the back of a clean mid lane. GW KIM's Ryze finished 3/0/12, involved in nearly every fight without once giving Chinese Taipei a shutdown. GB KIM's Pantheon (5/3/5) and M LEE's Caitlyn (5/3/3) supplied the damage, and Korea won the kill count 17 to 12. Chinese Taipei's best weapon was T CHIU, whose Jhin went 6/2/4 and kept the game closer than the scoreline suggests, but J LIU's Alistar absorbed five deaths trying to create engages that never fully landed.
Game 2 was a brawl, and Chinese Taipei actually won the kill tally 27 to 26. Y CHEN's Ambessa (9/5/7) and J YU's Nocturne (9/6/9) gave Korea real problems, diving and trading on even terms for long stretches. Korea had more answers in the fights that mattered. GW KIM swapped to Locke and posted 11/4/7, M LEE's Kalista went 8/7/13, and GB KIM's Vi added 6/4/14. M RYU's Renata Glasc died six times but stacked 18 assists, and W CHOI's Camille took the brunt of the punishment at 1/6/16 while his carries cashed in.
The finale was the most one-sided game of the set. Korea took all five dragons, eight towers to Chinese Taipei's two, and the only Baron, ending with a lead of nearly 5,700 gold. GB KIM's Naafiri ran 6/1/5, M LEE's Kog'Maw added five kills behind M RYU's Lulu (1/3/14), and W CHOI's Shen kept the backline covered. GW KIM's Syndra went 5/0/8, rounding out a series line of 19/4/27. Y CHEN's K'Sante (4/4/1) fought hard for Chinese Taipei, but with no dragons and only two towers they had nothing to build on.
