Republic of Korea beat Saudi Arabia 2–0 (Asian Games, October 1).
Republic of Korea needed very little time to find their rhythm. In Game 1, GW KIM's Locke ran the map from mid, finishing 9/0/4 as Korea built an 18 to 6 kill lead. GB KIM's Vi kept the pressure on around the river at 4/1/5, and M LEE's Kalista added five kills of her own in the bot lane. Behind them, M RYU's Renata Glasc and W CHOI's Rumble supplied the setup, ten and seven assists respectively, so Korean picks came backed by their whole team. Saudi Arabia's best moments ran through N A, whose Lucian went 3/3/2 and found some trades in the bot lane. Their jungle could not keep pace with the Korean tempo, though. A WAZZAN's Kha'Zix was caught six times, and without a jungler able to contest, Saudi Arabia struggled to protect A A's Orianna or give N AL's K'Sante any room up top.
Game 2 brought more aggression from both sides and a wider final margin. Korea's top and jungle took over this time. W CHOI's Nidalee went 7/3/9 and GB KIM's Olaf crashed in for eight kills, forcing fight after fight through the side of the map where N AL's Illaoi stood. Illaoi died nine times. M LEE then cashed in from range, and his Caitlyn finished 10/0/7 while GW KIM's Cassiopeia (11 assists) and M RYU's Bard (14 assists) held the frontline in place for her. A WAZZAN deserves credit for a much sharper outing on Sylas at 5/4/3, stealing a few fights back for Saudi Arabia. Still, Korea won the kill count 26 to 9, secured the Baron, took eleven towers to Saudi Arabia's one, and ended about 13,000 gold ahead before breaking the Nexus to finish the 2-0 sweep.
